This PDF is another set of rules that can be used to make mechs, a la Gundam style rather than Battlemech style, and the core set of design rules in my Red Space campaign, that I'll be running on the board. It contains all the rules necessary for designing PL 6/7 mechs for the Soviet Union and the Communist Bloc in the Red Space campaign. It makes use of a amalgam system consisting of: traditional vehicle rules, traditional starship rules, and the stuff from Warships. If it proves popular, I'll include other Bloc books (there's 5 or 6 other blocs, which are decidedly more advanced than the Soviet Union in most ways). The flavor of this "primer," however, is distinctly Soviet/Communist in nature, to fit the feel for the campaign. Inside of this text you'll find:
- New Rules for piloting and using mechs, including the new skill Vehicle Operation - Mech and a specialized Weapons skill under the System Operation broad skill, used for different types of weapons.
- How mech combat works.
- How damage and scaling work in the campaign world, and how to repair that damage.
- An explanation of how equipment works, the three different types of equipment (intrinsic, extrinsic and structural), and a partial list of equipment.
- Different mechs from three different countries in the Communist Bloc - The Soviet Union/Russia, China, and the Byzantine Socialist Republic.

This is a ubiquitous modular PL7 vehicle used in my campaign based on a Skytank hull. Included is the original late PL6 version and two PL7 versions. Modify them to your heart's desire. Thanks go to Tilaurin for his spreadsheet and add-ons.

This skytank is the older Mk7 version of the Mk8 EFV currently used by GNMC in my campaign. Two of these are normally deployed from the Falco-Class Corvette.
